Rugged chassis design & 2-up seating

Features and Benefits
Key Features:
= That tough off-road look isn't just for looks: the strong steel frame; fat, aggressive tires; oiled-type air filters; beefy shocks front and rear and off-road style brush deflectors make this scooter at home on unpaved roads while delivering all the attitude you could want for the street.
= 125cc 4-stroke engine with 4 valves, a 10:1 compression ratio, ceramic-composite cylinder plating, and electronic fuel injection gives this new-generation Zuma a new level of performance.
= Fully automatic C.V. transmission and pushbutton electric starting make the Zuma super-convenient transportation. Both center and side stands, along with a locking cover on the ignition switch, make it convenient to park, too.
= There's room for two atop this new-generation Zuma's seat, and lots of locking storage beneath it.
= The Zuma 125 achieves fuel economy up to an estimated 89 mpg* with a fuel tank that holds 1.6 gallons of gas.

Engine:
= Zuma's fuel-injected, 125cc single cylinder, 4-stroke engine pumps out lots of power for its size, using an SOHC 4-valve head with 10:1 compression ratio and ceramic-composite cylinder plating.
= Pushbutton electric starting makes the Zuma 125 super-convenient for transportation.
= For reliability and easy maintenance, simple wet-sump lubrication is used. The centrifugal oil filter built into the crankshaft means there's no messy oil filter to replace.
= Forced air cooling system helps keep engine temperatures under control, even while idling at stoplights, for maximum efficiency and longer engine life.
= Fully automatic, V-belt transmission with centrifugal clutch provides easy, twist-the-throttle-and-go operation with great off-the-line acceleration.
= Fuel injection provides the optimal fuel mixture for the operating condition, including temperature and altitude, and that means easy cold starts, too.
= Oiled-paper type air filter helps trap dirt before it gets to your engine, even when riding on unpaved roads. The V-belt housing has its own off-road-style wet-foam air filter for durability.
= Upswept muffler incorporates exhaust catalyst technology to reduce air pollution and meet emission regulations.

Chassis/Suspension:
= Hefty steel-tube frame has a step-through design for easy mounting. A two-stage electrodeposition and electrostatic painting process provides a durable, corrosion-resistant finish.
= Telescopic fork features beefy outer tubes for strength, while slider shrouds help protect the 27mm inner tubes from debris.
= Swingarm has double rear shocks for riding comfort on the street and unpaved roads, too.
= Fuel tank holds 1.6 gallons for plenty of cruising range. Fuel tank emission system includes a charcoal canister to control gasoline evaporation and reduce air pollution.
= Fat 120/70-12 front and 130/70-12 rear tires have an aggressive looking block pattern for great handling on unpaved roads and on the street. Tires run on lightweight five-spoke die-cast aluminum wheels.
= 220mm hydraulic front disc and rear drum brakes combine for serious stopping power.
= Zuma provides both a centerstand and side stand for parking convenience.

Additional Features:
= Two bright halogen headlights light the way-following current sportbike practice, the left side provides the 55W low beam while the right side is the 60W high beam.
= For extra security when parked, the main switch is equipped with a key hole lock cover.
= The underseat storage compartment's cavernous 5.2-gallon capacity is roomy enough for a full-face helmet.
= The Zuma 125's easy-to-read analog speedometer is flanked by a fuel gauge and indicator lights.

General information

The Piaggio MP3, the three-wheel scooter that recently revolutionized personal transport by redefining the entire concept of ride stability, has grown to a 400cc displacement to offer unprecedented performance and safety. Fun, nimble and agile, the Piaggio MP3 400 i.e. handles curves with extraordinary safety and road holding that only the MP3 can manage, while providing all the power and distance range of a real touring maxi scooter.

The Piaggio MP3 has upped its engine capacity to offer increased performance together with a safe, fun ride. The new Master 400 engine—a four-stroke, four-valve unit with liquid cooling and electronic injection, provides a 34 hp power output at 7,500 rpm and torque of 38 Nm at 5,500 rpm. These performance figures translate into smooth, full power output at any engine speed, with response and acceleration at the top of the category. This makes it possible for the Piaggio MP3 400 i.e. to handle all kinds of riding, from town traffic to city bypass roads and tougher out-of-town roads in total comfort and safety even when riding with a passenger and a full load. Extra power and full-bodied torque become available at low engine rpm and are in fact crucial at critical moments like overtaking, when the Master 400 i.e. engine’s acceleration and throttle response together with the exceptional stability of the two-wheel front suspension let the rider pull away fast and safely.

In addition to the many technical advantages of the new Master 400 engine, the rider also enjoys reduced fuel consumption compared to larger capacity scooters, but the same “maxi” performance.

The Piaggio MP3 400 i.e. is truly an all-round scooter. On town rides, the Piaggio MP3 400 i.e. handles cobblestones, train tracks and irregular roads with the greatest of ease and stays stable and safe on wet roads as well. The exceptionally large underseat storage bay (which holds two full-face helmets), the wraparound protection of the wide front shield and the excellent cruising speed make this the ideal vehicle for long-distance as well as tougher rides.

The new 400cc engine also adds substantial advantages as regards the running gear: the use of the new engine and a 14” rear wheel with a 140/70 tire on the Piaggio MP3 400 i.e. has increased the wheelbase by a good 2.5 inches compared to the 250 cc version.

The result is impeccable stability when leaning into fast curves or when braking thanks to the longer rear end, increased rear wheel contact surface and outstanding road grip provided by the innovative parallelogram front suspension built to an original Piaggio design. Its tilt mechanism is composed of four cast aluminum arms, with four hinges fixed to the central tube and two guide tubes on either side of the parallelogram, connected to the arms via suspension pins and ball bearings.

The high strength tubular steel frame of the Piaggio MP3 400 is the result of a design project based on the latest CAD technology and computerized FEM (Finite Element Method) analysis. All aspects of the frame, including its structural strength and weight were defined and thoroughly tested at the very beginning of the project, and the validity of the solutions adopted were verified at every stage of the process.

Comfortable and innovative with exceptional performance, the Piaggio MP3 400 i.e. will appeal to novice riders as well as seasoned motorcyclists, as it combines enjoyment and ease of use with unprecedented safety.

The MP3 250 and MP3 400 redefines the entire concept of ride stability. With three ground
contact points and a shock absorber on each wheel, the MP3 swallows bumps with incredible efficiency.

= Single cylinder, four-stroke Piaggio Master engine
= Electro-hydraulic suspension locking system
= 40-degree lean angle for ultimate maneuverability
= Underseat storage that holds 2 helmets
= 3 disc brakes
